Odin is highly revered as the supreme Norse god, embodying various roles such as war, poetry, wisdom, and even death. Modeled after a 7th century bronze figure excavated in Lindby, Sweden, this 8" replica portrays Odin with a commanding beard and adorned in a helmet, tunic, and belt. Despite the original statue being incomplete, with a missing arm and eye, this gypsum stone crafted replica captures the essence of Odin's powerful presence.
The Saxons referred to him as Woden and he was deeply worshipped by those of Germanic descent. While Tacitus first mentioned him in the late 1st century, it was during the Viking Age that Odin was most venerated by Scandinavians, until the rise of Christianity. According to Adam Of Bremen, the Uppsala temple in Sweden served as the central hub for Odin's worship, adorned with grand statues of Odin, Thor, and Freyr. The temple's gables were adorned with gold chain as to be seen from afar.
